I have always loved doing full-glam makeup, but I struggled with the effects it had on my skin. Whenever I would go glam I would experience painful breakouts which would stand in the way of a beautiful beat. 

When I tried the existing lineup of clean formulas I was disappointed by the lack of long-wear abilities, pigmentation, and usability. I didn’t want to compromise anymore -- I wanted to do my makeup however the f*** I wanted to without my skin paying the price.

With one semester left in my chemical engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines, I found that my future job prospects were dull and boring. They didn’t fit what I wanted for my future, so I decided to pivot away from a life doomed inside of a lab doing someone else’s work.

I knew I wanted to start my own makeup brand, but it felt like a pipe dream. I mentioned my vision to a long-time friend, Jo, in a drive-thru after pining over my desire to be an entrepreneur for months. Jo, who is the kind of friend who made you feel like you could fly, talked me into taking the leap and getting started.

Provanity Cosmetics was born.

I wanted to make clean, pigmented formulas that were easy to use and long-lasting. After starting development, I knew I had a lot to learn to make Provanity happen.

​

​I returned to Mines to pursue a master’s degree in engineering and technology management. Here, I fine-tuned my ideas, learned how to be a business baddie, and pushed myself like never before.  

​

After two years of hard work I finally find myself here, ready to share Provanity and my cosmetic creations with you. My hope is that you’ll fall in love with these formulas just as much as I have.
